Using the PATH Train to Access Manhattan from New Jersey
The PATH is the most efficient mode of transportation between NJ and NYC. Rates are a flat $2.75 for a one way fare system wide. Ride time from downtown Newark to Manhattan or World Trade Center is just over 20 minutes. A ride from Hoboken to the 33rd street PATH just 5 blocks short of Time Square is 10 minutes.
The best PATH train station for accessing NYC is probably the Hoboken station. Hoboken offers nice views of the Manhattan skyline, plus a number of local restaurants and bars. The Journal Square station has a Ramada nearby that is best for economy minded travelers.
PATH for Newark Airport Access
The one pitfall with the PATH train is that it does not directly connect with Newark airport. To get from the airport to the PATH travelers need to use NJ Transit to connect to Newark’s Penn Station or a cab.
