There are three major airports that service the NYC area. Those are Newark, LaGuardia and JFK. As for getting from the airport into Manhattan all three have options. Probably the easiest in terms of time and hassle will be getting from JFK to Manhattan. LaGuardia is generally closer, but will you will have to take a bus in order to get to an NYC subway station.
Getting from JFK to Manhattan
There is an Airtain line that will connect with the NYC subway at the Howard Beach / JFK airport station. There are several hotels that are nearby the NYC subway and also run a shuttle to JFK. Most of these hotels are in Brooklyn or Queens at Ozone Park, Jamaica, and East NY Brooklyn.
Getting from LaGuardia to Manhattan
LaGuardia connects to the NYC subway via a bus route. There are many hotels in Queens that offer a shuttle to LaGuardia and are located in Corona, Flushing.
Getting from Newark to Manhattan
There are three options to get from EWR (Newark Airport) to New York City (Manhattan). Those options include; bus, train, or a combination of the PATH subway and NJ Transit train. Olympia Trails runs an express bus route between the Newark Airport and the New York City Port Authority Building, Grand Central Station and Bryant Park.
For train access, take the AirTrain (light rail) to the Newark Liberty Airport Station. There board a NJ Transit train with a final destination at NYC’s Penn Station. If your destination in NYC is the Financial District near World Trade Center, or Peir 11 transfer to the PATH system at Newark’s Penn Station.
