Why: Rooftop Pool, Luxury Hotel, Restaurant
1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge is just a short walk from the East River and the Brooklyn Bridge. It is the only hotel within walking distance of the High Street Subway station. The average nightly rate is high at $430/night, but it is worth the price for the experience of staying on the Brooklyn waterfront. The hotel is carefully designed to feature native plants and local reclaimed materials. This new hotel has an outdoor rooftop pool with an incredible view of Manhattan. The restaurant is run by chef Seamus Mullen who is known for his restaurant Tertulia in the West Village. Breakfast is available for purchase. 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge has free wireless internet in all rooms. We recommend this hotel for special occasions.
About Brooklyn near Brooklyn Bridge
Who is Best for this Location?
Travelers who want to impress a loved one and experience an outstanding location and hotel for an NYC getaway.
Neighborhood Vibe: Brooklyn is just across the East River from Manhattan. This area has many parks and recreational areas, so it’s a fun place for active couples and groups to spend time. If you love Manhattan, but need to see some greenery everyday, consider staying in this part of Brooklyn.
Getting Around: From the High Street Subway station it’s just five minutes on the blue line to the World Trade Center in the heart of the Financial District. Or you could reach Canal Street in SoHo in twelve minutes. For a scenic ride into Manhattan, the East River Ferry departs from Brooklyn and drops off in Midtown and Downtown.
What to Eat: At the ferry drop-off, you can get homemade ice cream at the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory. For dinner, consider Grimaldi’s Pizza for a traditional margherita pie. Iris Cafe Store 9 is wonderful for brunch, especially if you order the French toast or chilaquiles.
Things to Do: The top activity in the area is walking across the Brooklyn Bridge. It’s a 1.3 mile walk and there are no restrooms or snack facilities on the bridge, but there are plenty of options on both the Manhattan and Brooklyn sides of the bridge. There are also many events going on at Brooklyn Bridge Park year-round.
