Jacob’s Restaurant is known for Haitian dishes like rice and beans with snapper. Another solid Haitian food option is Danie Restaurant, which also serves some American staples. Big G’s serves excellent curried goat and beef patties.
Things to Do: The Turtle Back Zoo is about eight miles from the Irvington Bus Terminal and it’s a fun place to take kids. The Thomas Edison National Historic Park in West Orange is of interest to history buffs.
