Best NJ Hotel that Offers a Shuttle to Manhattan

There are a handful of hotels that advertise shuttle service to NYC. The problem is that not all hotels operate the shuttle and outside of word of mouth these shuttle services don’t publicize their service with a website, or phone number. After speaking with each hotel that advertises a shuttle to NYC the most reliable option is the Doubletree in Fort Lee, NJ near the George Washington Bridge. Their shuttle service is operated by the Doubletree. The services picks up guests at the hotel lobby and drops them off at the Hilton on 54th in Manhattan. While the service is $20 and is more expensive than the PATH or other shuttle services the extra costs pays dividends because you can wait for the return shuttle in the lobby of the NYC Hilton. A better alternative than waiting at a street corner for a third party service.

Best NJ Hotel Near Ferry to NYC

Ferries operated by NY Waterway Company offer a more inspiring ride from NJ to NYC. However, the frequency of ferry routes gives it a disadvantage, and a one way ride on the ferry is usually between $7 and $11 dollars. Weekend travelers need to be cautions about relying on the ferry. Still, those who want to experience the ferry have several options. The all around best hotel near a ferry from NJ to NYC is the Sheraton because it sits close to the Lincoln Harbor Ferry that operates on both weekdays and weekends. Rates at the Sheraton can be expensive, but the hotel does sit right along the Hudson River so the NYC skyline is in the distance. Weekday visitors will find better value in the Comfort Inn by the Edgewater Ferry landing.

Best NJ Hotel Near Express Bus Route to NYC

There are a few bus routes that take an express route into Manhattan with a final destination at the Port Authority. We like the Fairfield Marriott in Paramus, NJ. It’s about fifty minutes by bus to the Port Authority station in New York City. To get around Paramus, it’s best to have a car. Fairfield is everything you expect from a Marriott: clean with good service and free wifi. Across hundreds of online reviews, guests consistently compliment the staff and call them out by name for their help with everything from arranging use of the complimentary shuttle to promptly fixing an issue with hot water in the sink. The on-site restaurant, Bonefish Grille, receives consistent praise as well.
